Travelling by train

If you’re travelling to Gatwick Airport from the south, then the train is a great way of getting to the airport. Unfortunately if you’re coming from further north, your journey is likely to involve changing trains – and possibly stations – at London.

  • Gatwick train station is located at the South Terminal only a 10 minute walk from check in. A free monorail connects to the North Terminal and takes around 2 minutes.
  • The Gatwick Express runs from Victoria every 15 minutes during the day and hourly at night. The journey takes 30 minutes.
  • Other train services run from Victoria throughout the day and are much cheaper. Journey time ranges from 30 minutes to an hour

Taking the bus

The bus is by far the cheapest way to travel to Gatwick, with National Express tickets starting as low as £5 one way. It takes a little longer than the train, but can be more convenient if you’re coming from outside of London.

  • Gatwick coach station is located at the South Terminal, but most busses also call at the North Terminal.
  • National Express coaches run from London Victoria every half hour at peak times (hourly otherwise). Journey time is about 1 hour.
  • Coaches also run from many other UK cities, including Birmingham and Cardiff.

However you decide to travel to Gatwick, we hope you have a great trip.
